A cannabis company has announced its acquired a leading producer of organically grown cannabis – including bud infused with maple syrup – possibly making it the most Canadian strain to exist.

David Bernard-Perron, vice-president of The Green Organic Dutchman, unveiled the Organic Sugar Bush strain Thursday.

In a statement, he said he wanted to find “a special strain with a unique Canadian twist” to add to the companies growing portfolio of premium strains.

Organic Sugar Bush features a “unique terpene profile” loaded with sweetness from infusing maple syrup from Quebec into the soil as the cannabis grows.

The high-THC sativa variety, which carries a fruity, sweet scent reminiscent of ripe melon and passion fruit, is named after Quebec’s maple forests.

The Green Organic Dutchman focuses on organic cannabis products.
