People on Banff’s main shopping street will soon be able to experience a new kind of Rocky Mountain high when Calgary-based High Tide Inc. opens a pot retail store in the highly popular tourist destination.

The store marks High Tide’s 28th Alberta location and its 37th Canadian retail store.

“As one of only two locations on Banff Avenue, the Banff Store is a significant addition to the Company’s retail portfolio. Canna Cabana is conveniently accessible to consumers directly from Banff Avenue, which is a unique opportunity to serve the four million tourists who visit Banff year round, as well as local residents,” Raj Grover, president and CEO of High Tide, said in a news release. “This premium location was secured organically without any acquisition cost, and we are excited to bring our signature retail cannabis experience to this world-renowned tourist destination.”

The store is slated to open Aug. 12.
