Seth Rogen and cannabis is synonymous, there’s no debate. And now, U.S. fans of his comedy and weed-lovers alike can join British Columbia in supporting the actor and entrepreneur.

Announced earlier this week and only available over the border in California, Rogen said Houseplant has been ten years in the making.

“If you know anything about me at all, I’m going to assume it’s that I really love weed,” he said in a series of tweets.

The concept is simple: For people who love weed, by people who love weed. Picking which exclusive strains to feature was “truly a labour of love,” culminating as soft gels, beverages, pre-rolls and flower varieties.

“This is just the beginning, this is honestly my life’s work and I have never been more excited about anything,” Rogen said, adding that “ashtrays, lighters, and YES, even ceramics” will eventually be for sale.

It’s safe to say the interest in the funny-man’s new venture was a roaring success, with the site crashing from traffic on Monday.

It’s unclear if and when some of the products – from ceramics to strain-themed vinyl – will be available in Canada, but cannabis has been available in Canada since 2019.

“All our strains are named after weather systems like we did with Pineapple Express,” Rogen said.
